Abstract

The changes in the treatment of people with mental disorders as a result of the Psychiatric Reform brought new ways of treatment and care to its patients. Those are more focused on the Subject and citizenship. This article’s objective is to highlight the benefits and potentials of the horticulture as an additional practice with the goal of psychosocial rehabilitation of people with mental disorders. This state of the art gathers 15 other articles about projects executed in this area, dated from 2006 to 2015. After mapping the practices of Horticulture therapy in Brazil, this brief study allowed us to infer that those practices provide biosocial psychological benefits that could  be utilized by many different types of health services.
