Already established in medical education, the residency has expanded its focus and has been constituted, in the past years, as an alternative of specialized training for the whole spectrum of health professions. As a result of the entrance of the psychologist into the public health sector, the education in Psychology has not escaped this phenomenon. In this sense, the study presents, through a integrative review of the literature, the state of the art about the education in Psychology in the context of residency programs. The survey covers publications indexed in the databases Lilacs, SciELO and PePSIC. It is observed, after all, that the education in Psychology in residency programs constitutes a privileged experience, that approximates the psychologist to the public health sector. However, this is still a very incipient subject, which is not prioritized in the broader literature on education in Psychology. Besides that, most of these studies lacks a solid theoretical framework and an empirical approach that can account for the complexity of phenomenon of education in Psychology.Downloads
