Abstract

Academic training is a remarkable and important process in the lives of students, and it includes professional, personal, family and financial aspects. This study aims to describe the profile of the students of the Psychology Course of UEMG - Divinópolis Unit, through the investigation of different aspects related to psychic, habitual, demographic, social, cultural and economic factors. Thus, a structured questionnaire was used that allows access to personal and sociodemographic characteristics, health data and the perception of the student in the graduation process, such as, in his opinion, what is lacking in the course in which he is graduating , the motivations for joining the course, participation in the classroom and reading habits. 256 students were evaluated. Based on the results of the research, we have identified demands that point to the need for greater incentives to submit the student to the psychotherapeutic process and also a greater possibility of knowing better the different approaches that exist in Psychology. With the description and knowledge of the profile of the students, it is intended to broaden the view on the academic of Psychology, as well as to stimulate, in the institutional and personal spheres, new possibilities, with a view to the biopsychosocial well-being of the individual in his formation process.
