Abstract

The objective of this study was to analyze the possible relationships between school complaints and the construction of gender in patient records in a Child and Adolescent Psychosocial Care Center (CAPSi) in Salvador, Bahia. It started with master's research that aimed to analyze how these complaints were understood and answered in this service. For that, a qualitative study of ethnographic inspiration was carried out, using as methodological resources patient records analysis, participant observation and interview with professionals. Here we will present the results regarding the analysis of patient records, with a clipping for the issues of gender construction. As a result, it was found that the boys represented most of the referrals (71%). Proportionately, the girls presented more reports of situations of humiliation in school and also descriptions that indicated a high degree of psychic suffering. The data show a strong influence of existing patterns in gender-based construction underlying these referrals. Finally, it concludes with the need to discuss more thematic of racial, gender and social class relations with professionals in the public policies of education and health.
