Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To assess the clinical social profile of children aged 0 to 12 years old, submitted to surgery to repair the cleft lip and/or palate, served by the Non Governmental Organization (ONG) Smile operation on a health reference center in the municipality of Santarém-Pará. METHOD: The study was cross-sectional, retrospective documentary with a quantitative approach, accomplished through data analysed using graphs in Microsoft Excel 2010 program. They analyzed 185 medical records, which shows that the crack was the most frequent, and male gender was the most affected. RESULTS: After analyzing the research results can be inferred that the proposed objectives were achieved. CONCLUSION: Thus it is believed this study can contribute to the academic community and society in general to enrich information about labial and palatal cleft disorders.
