FROM ICU TO INTENSIVE CORONARY CARE UNIT: REPORT OF AN EXPERIENCE WITH PSYCHOANALYSIS

Abstract

This is the report of the experience of the first year of work as a hospital psychologist in the ICU of a famous maternity of private providers in Salvador-Bahia, based on psychoanalytic theory, including a brief literature review on the topic. Humanization was found to be a symptom of intensive care and the humanization of care has been proposed as an ethical stance that includes the patient, family and health professionals subjectivity in medical practice, through the individual and group psychological care of the patient , their families and the staff, and notes in medical records and multidisciplinary clinical case discussions, seeking interdisciplinary practice to circulate the subjectivity of all involved.
