PHYSICAL THERAPY ACCESS AND HEALTH REQUIREMENTS: LIMITS AND POSSIBILITIES IN PRIMARY CARE

Abstract

This article aims to understand the health needs and access physiotherapy in the view of the PET-HEALTH and users of a Health Unit in a city in Bahia. For this, we used a qualitative approach, conducted through semi-structured interviews with 6 individuals, represented in two groups: group I (03), called Ex-recipients of Program of Education for Work for Health - PET-health; group II (03) called users of the health service. Finally, it was concluded that despite knowing the work process of the physiotherapist in primary care, respondents justified the need for this professional work in the Family Health Team (FHT) great demand by users underserved, particularly with respect curative care / rehabilitation, but also in relation to health promotion. Thus, the therapist contributes significantly to the consolidation of completeness, interdisciplinary problem solving and SUS.
