Abstract

These notes are intended to reflect on a great concept that Freud postulated, the unconscious, which acquired enormous power in the twentieth century. Freud concept has been an important contribution to various sciences and philosophy about the human condition. Nevertheless, there has existed thinking critical of concept. I have selected a few of these critiques as examples for your understanding and review. Freud’s inconsistencies have caused never ending debates. Precisely, I have undertaken a medical, psychological, anthropological and philosophical analysis of critiques to find their strengths and weaknesses as seen in these brief notes.
