Revista de Psicologia, Diversidade e Saúde Achieves A4 Classification in Qualis CAPES

02/09/2026

The Revista de Psicologia, Diversidade e Saúde (RPDS), part of the Bahiana Journals Periodicals Portal, has just achieved an A4 classification within the Qualis Periódicos system of the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES), one of the highest scoring levels. Created in 2010, the journal previously received B4 (2013–2016), B1 (2017–2020), and now A4 (2021–2024).

Prof. Juliana Goulardins, PhD, coordinator of the Scientific Communication Center (NUCC) and Bahiana Journals, explains that the Qualis Periódicos system, coordinated by CAPES, is an instrument used to evaluate the scientific output of graduate programs in Brazil. It classifies journals based on criteria such as editorial quality, rigor of the peer-review process, publication regularity, visibility, indexing, and adoption of best practices in scientific communication. Within this stratification, Level A represents the top tier of Qualis, gathering journals that meet more rigorous scientific and editorial standards. This level is subdivided into A1, A2, A3, and A4, reflecting different stages of maturity and consolidation of the journals.

"The reclassification of RPDS contributes to strengthening its position within the scientific community, expanding its credibility as a space for disseminating knowledge in the health field and valuing academic production linked to graduate programs, particularly the Professional Master’s in Psychology and Health Interventions at Bahiana," stated Prof. Mônica Daltro, PhD, editor-in-chief of RPDS and coordinator of the Professional Master’s in Psychology and Health Interventions. Prof. Juliana Goulardins also highlights that this recognition results from a continuous process supported by the collective work of the editorial team, reviewers, and authors, "and by the institutional commitment to integrity, transparency, and the qualification of scientific communication," she concludes.
