Introduction: The cryolipolysis, despite being a cosmetic treatment described recently in the literature, is a therapeutic option that has theoretical and practical grounds that indicate positive results in the reduction of localized fat. Objective: To systematically review the clinical applicability of cryolipolisys and document its effectiveness in patients with localized adiposity within the selectedphysiotherapy dermato functional. Methodology: Were selected scientific articles classified as RCTs or not in the databases Pubmed and Bireme between the periods 2010 to 2016. The research was conducted under the PRISMA methodology. The manuscripts included were analyzed qualitatively according to JADAD scale and reviewed by two independent reviewers. Results: Of the 210 articles identified in databases, 9 manuscripts were included for analysis, with a total sample of 234 individuals with adiposity localized level of quality of the studies was 2.1. Different anatomical areas were evaluated in the studies compiled with emphasis on thighs, flanks, arms and abdomen. There was also a high degree of satisfaction by participants. Conclusion: The level of quality of existing clinical trials in the literature was considered low, despite the fact that they are published in high impact journals. Randomization sample represented the critical point for most of the manuscripts. It is a suggested to conduct more randomized clinical trials to the theoretical and practical basis of cryolipolysis technique.
