Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging is a diagnostic method that gives information on morphofunctional a wide range of pathologies of the cardiovascular system. Being a complex examination of various stages, it becomes relevant to the role of nursing in cardiac magnetic resonance. This study aims to demonstrate the functions of the nursing staff in the examination of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging as a way to guarantee a specific and safe patient care. The methodology used was an integrative review of exploratory and descriptive using scientific databases LILACS, SciELO, MEDLINE, PUBMED and BDENF, extracting recently published journals available in full in English and Portuguese. As a conclusion the nurse plays a key role in ensuring the quality of care and patient safety in all aspects related to the examination of cardiovascular magnetic resonance.
