Abstract

OBJECTIVES: describe the reports of the state of post-traumatic stress related to work in urban public transport workers. METHOD: descriptive study, based on the data from the Notification of Injury Information System. To calculate and organize the data, the Excel® and Stata version 12 programs were used, and absolute and relative frequencies were estimated per biennium and percentage variation in the studied period. The completeness of the data was analyzed by means of the category ignored, present in the variables schooling, race, CAT issue and case evolution. RESULTS: It was verified that in the period from 2008 to 2013, Post-Traumatic Stress was the most frequent aggravation of reported work-related mental disorders, with about 12.0% (54 cases) in urban collective transport workers in Brazil. There was a growth of notifications in the period, with a positive percentage variation of + 31.2%, with a 33.3% increase for men and + 25.0% for women. The occupation of the driver represented 53.7% of the notifications, and the Work Accident Report was issued in 61.1% of the cases. CONCLUSION: the work activity of collective transport workers is exhausting due to working conditions, which facilitates the occurrence of traumatic events.
