About the Journal
The Revista Enfermagem Contemporânea (REC), founded in 2012 and supported by the Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública (Bahiana School of Medicine and Public Health), is a Diamond Open Access scientific journal — free of charge and bilingual — with a vocation for the interfaces between Nursing and Collective Health.
REC’s mission is to foster the production and dissemination of knowledge in Nursing, strengthening its articulation with collective health, professional education, and the contemporary challenges of health care. In this sense, its objective is to promote critical development and innovation in the field of nursing, with an ethical focus on evidence-based research, contributing to the qualification of professional and academic practices. The journal adopts a continuous evaluation and publication workflow, with peer review under a double-blind review model, and is published under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY). The reviews issued by evaluators are part of authors’ formative process, complementing the training developed in classrooms, laboratories, and extension/outreach activities. Its target audience includes researchers, faculty, students, and nursing professionals, as well as professionals from related fields in health. Learn about our editorial policies.
