Abstract

INTRODUCTION: Hospitalization causes fear and suffering, and can affect the emotional fullness of patients and their family members. There is anxiety about dullness and idle time, just as it is boring, it makes an impression. An adequate reception, therefore - that gives prominence to the patient and his family, with professionals willing to, in addition to treating the disease, taking care of the sick person and his / her family - transmitting confidence, security and attention - is imperative. DISCUSSION: Like the paintings, the act of telling stories is a form of artistic expression, whose narratives in a hospital context have the purpose of relieving the anxiety of the internment period and still encourages the reflection of reality of who listens, as well as who narrates. Here, then, is the role of affection and the doctor's sensibility. The look towards the patient as a human being goes through biopsychosocial also due to the need to empower these actors, so that they have autonomy over their bodies and their lives. Standardization, fundamental to the organization in the dynamics of those who work in a hospital, ends up removing individuality, reducing those who are looking for care only to their bed number or their illnesses. CONCLUSION: Affections, therefore, must be stimulated, because our feelings, whether good or bad, confer singularity and integrality to the patient and empathy to the doctor. The opposite of that depersonalizes them.
